Description of herbal formula according to Chinese Medicine:

Zi su ye:

(Folium Perilae) Releases wind cold from the exterior, eliminate phlegm, stops coughing and ventilates lung qi.

Bai jie zi:

(Semen Sinapis) Warms the lung, dispels phlegm that can cause cough, wheezing and opens the airways.

Xing ren:

(Semen Armeniacae Amarum) Arrests cough and relieves wheezing. Has marked effect to suppress cough as it causes lung qi to descend. It is one of the most essential herbs in treating coughing as it can treat the initial, acute and chronic stages of cough.

Mai men dong:

(Radix Ophiopogonis) Nourishes yin and relieves chronic cough due to lung deficiencies by nourishing the yin and moisten the lungs.

Gua lou pi:

(Pericarpium Trichosanthis) Clears the lungs, dissolves phlegm, regulates qi and expands the chest and helps with difficult to expectorate sputum.

Zhe bei mu:

(Bulbus Fritillariae Thunbergii) This is one of the most effective herbs for stopping coughing caused by either exterior pathogenic factors or interior disharmony. Antitussive effect.

Qian hu:

(Radix Peucedani) This herb has dispersing and draining properties to redirect rebellious lung qi and dispel phlegm and to treat rising lung qi, copious difficult to expectorate sputum, cough, wheezing and chest oppression. Expectorant effect.

Jie geng:

(Radix Platycodonis) Ventilates the lung, dispels phlegm and benefit’s the throat for sore throat with hoarse voice. Expectorant and antitussive effects.

Qin pi:

( Cortex Fraxini) Redirects lung qi to relieve cough and wheezing.

Antitussive, expectorant effect.

Ce bai ye:

( Cacumen Platycladi) Dispels phlegm and stops cough and expectorates phlegm. Antitussive.

Bai qian:

( Rhizoma Cynanchi Stauntonii) It is a key herb used to treat any respiratory disorders manifesting in cough. It can treat cough, wheezing and sputum caused by either cold or hot phlegm.

Bai bu:

( Radix Stemoriae) Treats a wide rang of cough disorders that are acute or chronic, hot or cold, excess or efficient conditions.

Zi wan:

( Radix Asteris) Treats coughing caused by numerous factors, such as interior imbalance, exterior invasion, excess or deficient conditions.

Kuan dong hua:

( Flos Farfarae) Treats upper respiratory infection and a wide range of coughing disorders, including hot or cold, interior or exterior, deficient or excess conditions.

Recommended to drink 2-4 cups daily
