Description of formula:

Bai he:

( Bulbus Lilii) Clears the heart and calms the spirit. Used for insomnia, restlessness and irritability and when it is difficult to fall asleep.

Bai jiang cao:

( Herba cum Radice Patriniae) Sedative, helps to relax and stay asleep.

Lavender flowers:

Lavender is used for treating insomnia, nervous stomach and anxiety.

California poppy:

Is most often employed to provide restful sleep without the side effects of benzodiazipine drugs such as Librum, Valium and Xanax. The advantage of California poppy is relief from tension without morning grogginess, nausea that is sometimes associated with other sleeping medications.

Dan shen:

( Radix Salviae Miltorrhizae) Nourishes the blood and calms the spirit. Cool in nature, Dan shen dispels heat from the heart and nourishes blood to treat insomnia and palpitations.

Suan zao ren:

( Semen zizyphi Spinosae) Insomnia or difficulty falling or staying asleep, palpitations, excessive dreaming, shallow sleep with a tendency to wake easily, fatigue, poor appetite, forgetfulness.

Ye Jiao teng:

( Caulis Polygoni Multiflori) Treats the lack of nourishment to the heart that causes sleep disorders such as insomnia, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, and excessive dreams.

He shou wu:

( Radix Polygoni Multiflori) Replenishes the essence and nourishes the blood of the liver and kidney, one of the factors in insomnia.

Yuan zhi:

(Radix Polygalae) Strengthens heart Qi and disperses stagnation in the heart. It is used mostly for restlessness, palpitations, insomnia.

Bai zhu:

(Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) Tonifies the Spleen Qi and enables it to generate blood to nourish the shen of the heart.

Wu wei zi:

(Fructus Schisandae Chinensis) Tranquilizes the heart, calms the shen for yin and blood deficiencies which may have anxiety, insomnia and dream disturbed sleep.

Dang gui:

(Radicis Angelicae Sinensis) Tonify blood and calms the spirit.

Xie cao:

( Radix et Rhioma Valerianae) Calms the spirit and enters the Heart and liver channels for insomnia, emotional stress and excessive worrying.
